Compost

Here are Mario and Salvador getting ready to apply some compost to the left side rough on hole #18:

We are applying the compost to weak areas of the rough that need some extra help. In general slopes are tough to grow turfgrass on because they lack proper nutrient and water holding capacities. Our goal is to change the soil characteristics to improve these areas.

This will not occur overnight but will gradually help improve the roughs over time.

This is just one practice we are using amongst many to improve turfgrass health in the roughs and throughout the course.
